MWD/LWD Precision Machining

Schoeller-Bleckmann Sales offers special nonmagnetic collars for MWD, LWD and Directional Drilling applications, manufactured to the customers specification and design. These collars are used extensively for directional and horizontal drilling as well as formation evaluation while drilling. Our modern facilities allow us to produce even the most complex tools according to our customers specifications.

Our high grade steel alloys P530, P550, P580 and P750 are used for these very sophisticated parts because of their proven mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The standard P530 material has been enhanced with our P550 and P580 material. P550 and P580 have a higher chromium and nitrogen content which provides better resistance to pitting corrosion in addition to better mechanical characteristics and endurance strength. Our new P750 brand offers an extraordinary competitive material to common Ni-based alloys.

One of the main strengths of SBS is the ability to be a single source manufacturer of special Non-Mag collars. Only those products which successfully pass our rigorous inspection controls are allowed to leave our factory. From the sourcing of materials to the final quality control all SBOT manufactured products pass through our precision machining production steps including BTA boring, CNC lathe and milling, roller burnishing, shot peening, long distance gunhole-drilling and laser cladding at a 6-axis machine.
